Valley Center Preschool was established in 1975 by members of the First United Methodist Church of Valley Center. Realizing a real need for a preschool in the Valley Center Community. Valley Center Preschool is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering the social, emotional, academic, and physical development of children.
Our preschool program is designed to improve the child’s fine and gross motor skills, promote the mastery of all the concepts expected of a child entering Kindergarten today, while encouraging the growth of the child’s social and emotional skill development that is so important for today’s students.
The preschool calendar runs from August through May. The first and last days of the preschool are unique to the preschool, but otherwise the USD 262 School Calendar will be used in determining school days attended. The preschool will also follow USD 262 for school cancellations due to severe weather.

A Typical Day Includes:

Center Time
Hands-on play with puzzles, blocks, creative toys, and themed activities—encouraging problem-solving and imagination.

Group Time
Interactive stories, show-and-tell, and classroom discussions that reinforce literacy and social skills.

Singing, dancing, and rhythm games that develop coordination and listening.

Snack Time
Healthy snacks served with a side of manners and shared conversation.

Story Time
Engaging books read aloud to encourage a love of reading.

Outdoor Play
Safe and supervised playground time that builds gross motor skills and social interaction.

Enrollment for the upcoming school year begins every March..
A $60 enrollment fee is required at sign-up to hold your child’s spot.
We accept children ages 3-5 or until they are ready to start Kindergarten.
Our Student to Teacher Ratio is 12:1.

Session Times
- The Morning Session – 8:45-11:30 am.
The Afternoon Session – 12:45-3:30 pm.

- Monday & Wednesday – AM & PM Sessions
- Tuesday & Thursday – AM & PM Sessions
Classes for 4 & 5-Year-Olds:
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday – AM & PM Sessions
- Tuesday, Thursday, Friday – AM & PM Sessions
- Monday–Friday – AM & PM Sessions
Monthly Tuition:
- 2 sessions/week: $125
- 3 sessions/week: $155
- 5 sessions/week: $250
