Welcome to FUMCVC's Camp Firelight VBS!
Monday, June 10 - Friday, June 14 | 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
For those ages four-years-old (as of June 10, 2024) through those entering fifth grade (fall 2024).
VBS t-shirts will be given to those children registered by Monday, May 10, 2024. Those registered after May 10 will receive a shirt as supplies last.
During Vacation Bible School, join first-time camp Counselor Sam and Lumen, "Lu," the lightning bug puppet, for a summer adventure at Camp Firelight. Campers accompany Counselor Sam and Lu during each assembly session and learn to face their fears while trusting in God. Each day, Campers see Counselor Sam face new challenges, from as simple as leading Campers on a hike to as intimidating as meeting a new and wise nature expert. With the help of Lu, the Lightning Bug, and the Camp Counselor Guidebook, Counselor Sam and the Campers explore timeless Bible stories showing how Old and New Testament Bible Figures trusted God, faced their fears, and went on to do great things in God’s name.

WOW ZONE!
WOW ZONE! For kids ages 3 years old through fifth grade Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. Please use Entrance C.
CHILDREN’S CHURCH
Children's Church will be open to Kindergarteners through Fifth Graders.
Children will leave the sanctuary after the children's sermon and go with Phoebe and another adult or youth to a room in the children's area of the basement.
There, they will have a lesson, sing some songs, and do a craft.
Children can be picked up in the children's area of the basement, Room 9B, after church.
If children are staying for Sunday School (only applicable for those at the 9:00 a.m. worship service), they will be taken to the appropriate Sunday school room.
This format will happen two times a month during each worship service:
9:00 a.m. Worship Service First and Third Sundays
11:00 a.m. Worship Service Second and Fourth Sundays
No Children’s Church on Fifth Sundays!
The hope is to have more kids to participate in Children's Church, hear lessons on their level about God's love, and continue to participate in worship services.
NURSERY
We offer nurseries for the youngest of our precious children…birth through preschooler age children. Nurseries are available for both services and during the Sunday school hour.
SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
Classes run from 10:00 a.m.to 10:55 a.m. We have two classes—4 year olds-2nd graders and 3rd-5th graders. Children will sit with social distancing in mind. Masks are required for children and teachers.
WORSHIP SERVICES
Children are welcome to attend our in-person services at 9:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. Activity bags are available and all the contents of the bags are a gift to the children to take home. Masks are required for children ages 3 through adults. :)

Christmas Play: Each December the children of the church prepare a Christmas play for the church family to enjoy.
Summer Camp: Camp Horizon is located in Arkansas City Kansas right on the Arkansas River. There are camps for all ages and comfort levels as there are day camps, overnight camps, and week long camps for the older students.

Safety:
All of our volunteers and staff that work directly with children are Safe Gatherings certified. You can put your mind at ease when your child is attending an event here at FUMCVC. Along with the mandatory safety training, we have a fully integrated security system that allows monitoring of the property at all times.
